Halloween-Oct 31

Hawaii Girl, GI Joe, Captain Jack, Ladybug and Grim Reaper

On Halloween we all went to the party at the boys' school. It was a costume parade, a few games and lots of treats. After school, we found Alex a new costume at WabiSabi, the thrift store. Everything Halloween was 70% off. We went home and got into our costumes (or someone else's that we now liked better).  Grace took over Alex's Captain Jack and has perfect hair for it.  Caroline took over Grace's ladybug and it fit her perfectly, especially since one of her nicknames is Buggy.

We hit the trunk or treat madness where Matt joined us and then went trick or treating to the local nursing home. Grace later commented about this, "The people were all dressed up like old grandmas and grandpas at that place." The residents enjoyed seeing the kids in their costumes and the kids enjoyed the bags of popcorn that they handed out. They boys headed out with their friend Everett for more door to door trick or treating and the rest of us (minus a sleeping Courtney and Daddy to watch her) stopped at our neighbors, the Swifts, for homemade chicken noodle soup and rolls. It was yummy! and warm.  Joseph and Alex and our friends later joined us at the Swifts.

It was a fitting day and evening for our VERY busy weekend of Halloween celebrating! I was ready for a break!
