Colorado Trip-Cortez-Dolores-Telluride

Caroline at a park in Cortez
We took a trip to Cortez to see the area and enjoy the mountains. We were thinking about going to Mesa Verde and seeing the cliff dwellings, but decided to wait until the girls get a little older to climb the 32 foot ladder up to one of the dwellings. We had a great time exploring the area and the kids can't wait to return. We drove home via Telluride (the back way) and had incredible views of the mountains the entire way. It was gorgeous with the snow and fall colors.

Courtney and Alex at the park.

Joseph does it one armed.

They have an awesome rec center in Cortez with a climbing wall.  The kids all enjoyed it.  Joseph went the highest.

Grace got into her climbing.

Courtney enjoyed posing in the harness.

Climbing and posing

Alex enjoyed releasing and "riding" the pulley down.

Caroline loved climbing too.  Notice that all the girls have the same shoes on. They had to share the one pair of tennis shoes that we had. The other two had on sandals.

Driving up the Dolores River.

Headed over Lizard Pass toward Rico and Telluride.

Snow in the mountains.

Priest Lake

Caroline and Alex made a snowball.
