Our Halloween festivities started last night at the Sorrel River Ranch Haunted Hallow. It was the first year for this event. It was fun, but could use a little more organization and improvement. We got there early (when it was supposed to open according to their website at 5) so we could enjoy the activities before it got too cold. They said it wasn't starting until 5:30. Too bad things didn't get going until about 5:45. But we got to pick our pumpkin, trick or treat some doors and enjoy piping hot hot chocolate and cookies and watch Casper on a giant outdoor screen. The hayride stared a little later and finally the Haunted Stable was ready after 7. The Haunted Stable was fun, scary, but not too bad for the little kids to go through. We'll probably give it another try next year if we don't have anything else happening. Joseph is the skeleton man and the boy in the green cap (a Creeper from Mindcraft) is our friend Ben. The scenery is beautiful!
Caroline LOVED the hayride. She went on it three times!
Grace, Courtney and Caroline in the "pumpkin patch". Each family got to choose one pumpkin. The kids did a great job choosing ours.
Ladybug Grace on the rocks at the ranch. Castle Rock is in the background.
The kids got to trick or treat at three doors of a decorated cabin.
Captain Jack Alex
Caroline the Cow posed on the rocks.
