HMK Halloween Carnival-Oct 28

Courtney, aka Hawaii girl, waits for her turn at the fishing booth.

Friday night we headed over to the other elementary school in town, HMK, to attend their Halloween carnival.  Our good friend Chanelle was a major planner of the event.  We took two friends with us, Joe and Emma.  They had a cupcake walk, fishing, bean bag toss, beading and most importantly, a spook alley!  Joseph and his friends loved the spook alley, none of the other kids did...it was a little bit scary.  But they all kept talking about it for quite a while.

After I got the kids to bed, I went over to Emma's house and made cotton candy until 1am with Emma's mom, Kari, our friend Sara and their husbands.  We were gearing up for the big fundraiser our school was doing the next day at the Pumpkin Chuckin' Festival.  For those of you who may want to make cotton candy in your home, beware!  Poor Kari is still cleaning the fluffy wonder from her house two weeks later!  Sara was the super cotton candy gal.  She had nice frosted highlights of green cotton candy all over her hair!  She could make the prettiest cones of candy. I got better at the night went on, but she was the master.  So much for my Lagoon training.  Speaking of Lagoon,  a quick phone call to the cotton candy master, my sister Rachelle (who made the stuff at Lagoon for 5 years!), saved the cotton candy from a swishy existence.  She told us how important is was to keep the bags full of air for a soft cushy ride for the sweet stuff.  BTW, I hate cotton candy, always have...
