Joseph had his first Pinewood Derby on April 29. I was at Women's Conference, so Matt and Alex were the cheering and pit crew. His car did great. He was declared the "Ultimate Champion" of his Pack Derby. Way to go!
Luckily for me, they held the District Derby on May 5 so I was able to attend. Joseph's car raced great again and he placed 4th in the district--losing the chance to advance into the third place race on a coin toss...we were more disappointed than him. Alex was very bent out of shape that "His brother" didn't get a medal.
Many thanks to my dad for all of his assistance with the car. Matt and I are hoping to be able to help create something next year when my dad is gone on his mission.
