On the boat, getting ready for our "cruise" to begin
We celebrated our 12th anniversary on May 13th. Next year it will be 13 years on the 13th...we should really do something exciting! But this year we had a very fun evening. We went to Canyonlands by Night and were treated to a great evening. After a delicious dinner and fun conversation, we boarded a boat for a cruise on the Colorado River. It was a perfect evening, not too cold and not too hot and very little wind! We rode up the river as the sun was setting with the guide telling us about the history of Moab and the area. He showed us cool rock formations and shared several interesting anecdotes about the river and the settling of the region. The Colorado River was known as the Grand River until Congress renamed it in 1921 or so. As darkness fell, the boat turned around and we made our way down the river with a light show, some geological history and music. It was beautiful. It wasn't lasers or flashing lights, just big spotlights shining on the rock walls in the darkness illuminating the natural beauty of the rocks. The stars were out, the moon was almost full and the trip was beautiful.

Looks like a pretty fun anniversary date. Happy anniversary.
