Melon Days-Parade

Our float for Matt's work ended up winning a first place trophy in the parade. His co-workers did a great job decorating the float. We handed out Otter Pops, Play-Dough and Tootsie Rolls along the parade route. The kids had a great time riding and throwing the candy. If your children are sugar deprived, plan to watch the parade next year. It was amazing how much candy the kids along the parade route had.

Caroline was a cute little melon girl.
Courtney enjoyed the Otter Pops and throwing candy.
The boys found the shade of the "piggy bank" and staked out a spot.
Grace munching on tootsie rolls and enjoying the view.
Gracie and Alex by the big piggy bank. The kids loved the balloons. Grace has decided that she wants to be Superman for Halloween. Every time someone would let go of a balloon and she saw it float up, she would say, "When I be Superman for Halloween, I fly up and get all the balloons." I think she might be kind of disappointed that that costume doesn't come with the super powers.
