For those of you who have known my Joseph aka Kirill for quite a while, know that he would rather die than stand in front of people and present anything. He's been coming out of his shell more and more and last week at church he asked his teacher at church if he could have her extra materials from their lesson so he could do it at home for Family Home Evening.
Last night, Joseph (I'm really trying to respect his desire to be called Joseph although I miss Kirill so much) set up all the materials, did the entire lesson, including a story and setting his brother and sisters up in a role play. He had them do it two or three times with each of them taking a turn being the boy, the mother, the store owner and such. His lesson was on tithing. It was amazing to watch our son teach and lead his siblings in a lesson. Matt and I both loved watching him in this new role and his excitement about it. We were so, so proud. Matt told him that he did a great job as a teacher and Joseph said, "Maybe when I grow up I'll be a teacher and an inventor." The other kids responded very well to his lesson too. Alex, of course, wanted to know when it would be his turn. Stay turned for Alex's lesson teaching experience next week.
Great Job Joseph! What a great experience. We can't wait to hear about Alex.
ReplyDeleteI was just about to ask, "who is Joseph"! You are a good mom to respect his wishes even though it is really hard!
