Grace LOVES the glue!
On September 6, Courtney and Grace started pre-school. We are doing a Mom's pre-school this year. Each week school is held at a different house and with a different mom teaching. We have four moms in our group and six kids so each mom teaches once a month. We have class twice a week for two hours each. Our curriculum is really easy and flexibly. We're using the alphabet and holidays as our guide. It's really fun and you can't beat the cost! I got to be the first teacher and we started with A. We had lots of fun talking about alphabet, animals and apples. We cut and glued, we did apple print paintings and played abra-ca-dabra (a fun game where your put out 4-5 items, cover them with a dish towel and take away two items. The kids have to remember what you took away. They LOVED this game.)
We just finished week 2 (Sept 13 and 15) and the girls loved going to another house for their school and B week. They came home singing about "smashing up their baby bumblebee" and blew a lot of bubbles. Caroline, on the other hand, was quite put out that she didn't get to go to school. All of the kids in school are 3 years old. It's hard for her to understand why she can't do something with her sisters since she thinks she is the same age as them. They've always been together in everything. It's a good experience for her, but I have a feeling she'll always want to know when she'll "catch up with her sisters." It's weird to only have one kid at home, even if it is only for 4 hours a week. Last time I had one kid at home was with Alex when Joseph was in kindergarten before Courtney was born--3 1/2 years ago!
