Ready and waiting!
Caroline had tubes put in her ears and her adenoids removed last week. She was so excited to go to the doctor by herself and her have her OWN ear doctor. I guess being part of a "pack" of kids makes something of your very own special.
It would be nice if Mom knew that the gown tied in the back:)
She eagerly prepared for her surgery and went skipping off with the doctor to the operating room. She wasn't so thrilled when she came out of the anesthesia...but calmed down after a while and we made our way home to recuperate after spending time eating Popsicles, drinking juice and cuddling with blankets from the blanket warmer. Adenoidectomy is much easier to recover from than tonsillectomy for those of you who have had both. We had to watch her carefully for 24 hours to make sure she stayed calm and there was not bleeding, but she did great with only some Tylenol and Advil for the pain. The tubes required some ear drops for a few days, but she is doing well with those too.
Hopefully this operation will help her sleep better and help with the pressure on her ear drums. Her hearing is within the normal range, but she is hearing 20 decibels less than she should because of the fluid and pressure.
Ready to go! She was so excited to take the hat and socks home. She tried for the gown, but it had to stay.
