Flashlights for Sale!

Alex and Grant selling flashlights to raise money for Cub Scout Day Camp.  Day one we sold in the afternoon in front of Rimco and day two we sold in the morning outside of Matt's store. Day two was much more productive.

One pack of  three flashlights was $20 for a solar powered flashlight, a flashlight that you shake to make it work and a head lamp you clip to you hat.

Each boy had to sell 10 packs.  After two selling sessions, the boys sold all of their flashlights.  It was the uniforms and the cute boys that sold every one of them!  People were very kind to the Cub Scouts and selling flashlights in the hot sun helped Alex learn a good lesson in work and sticking to a job.

I personally would rather pay the money for day camp than sell items (especially since we don't have family close by that we can "force" to buy our items), but I learned a valuable lesson about how important it is for Alex to learn to sell and work to attend his camp.  I'm not saying that we'll sell everything next time (no wrapping paper!), but it was a good experience.
