Joseph was awarded his Arrow of Light Award on Tuesday, February 26. As part of the ceremony, each boy got an arrow with an eagle feather to motivate them to get their Eagle Scout. The ceremony was really neat, and we are very proud of him. He won't officially move to Boy Scouts until his birthday in May, but we are happy to have this award earned a few months early.
I made an Arrow of Light cake. It has a Webelos crest on the bottom. It was tasty, but could use a little work on the spacing.
Alex attended the ceremony as a Cub Scout. It was his first Den Meeting and all of the dens met together for the ceremony. He was very proud.
Joseph, Colton and Gabriel all received their awards.
Joseph crossing over the bridge from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts and receiving his Boy Scout Neckerchief.
A proud Arrow of Light recipient. The face paint was from earlier in the ceremony when the parents painted the boys' faces to symbolize courage, bravery and other character traits learned on the Arrow of Light Trail.
Colton and Joseph wait to burn their names in the Cross-Over Bridge. Each boy who earns his Arrow of Light gets to burn his name in the bridge that the boys walk over from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts.
Joseph with his name and year. The wood burning tool was really hard to use and write with so he went with the block letters.
