An Afternoon at "The Beach"

The kids play at the beach. 

It was fun riding a tube down the river a little bit with an adult holding onto them so they wouldn't float too far away. The water is really low this year and the river is really down.

We have enjoyed some summer days at "The Beach."  It is really close and hardly ever crowded.  The girls love to "wash" the rocks and see the colors. They get mad that they turn back to their dull colors when they dry out.  We have a rule that you can only take two "pretty" rocks home. We would have an entire riverbed if the girls had their way. Joseph took goggles last time and enjoyed looking at the bottom of the river.  He was also trying to find crawdads.  He only found some remnants.  Alex likes to pour water and follow his brother.  As usual, the only bad part of playing at the beach is getting the sand off to go home...

Grace's favorite thing is rolling and lying in the sand. She loves to "get warmy."  Both she and Courtney were amazed at their tan lines.  "I have a swimming suit on my body when I take off my swimming suit," Courtney said.
