Two years ago today Gracie joined our family. It's hard to believe that it was just two years ago that we went from one baby girl to two and soon after that three. It's amazing to watch three little ladies with such distinct personalities. Gracie is a very sweet, sensitive girl. She is very inquisitive and has a mind of her own. She can be very stubborn about somethings, but is very easy to agree on other things. She could care less most days what she wears and willingly puts on the clothes I choose for her (unlike her sister Courtney). She loves macaroni and cheese, hot dogs, singing, swinging, swimming (as long as you hold her hand), Dora, Wonder Pets, cobby corn, popcorn and lemonade. She is very funny, and makes funny comments all the time (but I can't think of any right now). She LOVES to play chase and tickle with her brothers and plays "mommy and daddy" with Courtney. She often chooses to be daddy. When Gracie is daddy, she says, "I'm going to work now. I'm the daddy. Do you want a sucker?" "I'm going to softball now." "I'm daddy, do you want a quesadilla? I'm making quesadillas." "I'm the daddy, I'm ironing." "I'm working on the computer, I'm the daddy." "I'm daddy, I'm going to church." Now you know what Gracie thinks that Matt does.
Gracie is officially Elizabeth Grace, but if you say, "Are you Elizabeth Grace?" She answers, "I not 'Lizbeth Grace, I just Gracie." "Just Gracie" is a light in our lives, and we are very grateful to Deanna for placing her in our family. It was so great to see her this summer.
I don't have any pictures with me as I post this, but I wanted to comment on this special day for Grace while I was thinking about it. We like the 13th in our family. My birthday, our anniversary, Courtney's birthday and the day Gracie joined our family are all on the 13th. My cousin Stephani got married today so I hope the 13th is as kind to them as it has been to us. I was thinking about my kids yesterday and how special each of them are and how I need to tell them this more often and to let everyone else know!
this whole entry was just too cute. those girls of yours are just perfect.
