Morning Glory Bridge Hike

Morning Glory Bridge

Another adventure....I'm really learning my limits on how far we can hike...the hard way. I think I'll now only take hikes that other moms with younger children have been on. I think I'll hike the other places before I go. It was so much fun to hike with my friend Angie and her kids Haven and Alex. We have loved getting to know them and are thrilled to have another adoptive family so close to us at school, church and as friends too! The kids loved the hike because it crossed over a stream SEVERAL times, and they loved playing in the water. It got a bit long in the end (it was almost 5 miles round trip) so we didn't quite make it all the way to the bridge (the 6th longest span of rock in the US), but we got to see it. Angie ended up carrying Caroline most of the way down while I carried Courtney and Gracie. This is an excellent training program for just about anything...carrying two girls who weigh around 30lbs. while hiking up and down a trail. It improves strength, endurance and balance:)

See the lizard in the middle of the pictures. The kids counted over 100 lizards that they saw on the hike. Maybe some were repeats on the way down, but who can tell.
Part of the hike as we began was nicely shaded through willow trees.

"Pretty flowers" that the girls loved to pick and carry. Caroline likes to carry them and pull off the blossoms.

Playing in the creek.
Haven, Gracie, Alex M., Alex W. Kirill Joseph and Courtney in the front.
