Easter

Courtney loved watching her eggs change colors. She didn't leave them in the dye very long because she wanted to see what color they were.
Alex enjoyed helping Gracie dye her eggs.

Matt and Caroline dyed Caroline's first Easter egg together--a nice pastel blend.

Londyn, Alex and Kirill enjoyed their egg dying session.

Matt is convinced that Caroline looks like Becca's kids. What do you think?

Kirill and Alex look for the elusive "name egg" at Grandpa and Grandma's Egg Hunt.
A name egg is one plastic egg with your name on it and only you can find it. Inside the name egg this year, each kid found money. This was our first Easter ever at Grandma and Grandpa's house so it was fun to join the "name egg" tradition.

Caroline loves being outside. She decided to snuggle with mommy for this picture near the end of the egg hunt.

Gracie was an excellent egg hunter. She didn't get distracted by the candy inside. Courtney had to break open each egg she found to see what was inside before she went on to the next egg.

Courtney wasn't very happy that we told her that we were all done hunting eggs.

We missed our Kensi and Jackson!

As you can see Easter was a lot of fun. Alex had an egg hunt at school on Friday and we were able to help out and the girls got to participate. They LOVE to go to Alex's class. They just head right in and sit down with the other kids. Gracie especially thinks she is part of the class and follows the kids everywhere. Courtney is a bit more worried about where I am, but she enjoys it a lot too. After the party, we had the van packed and we headed to Grandma's house.
Grandma had more snow than we did. She had about 4 inches everywhere when we got there and it snowed a bit more on Friday night. Saturday was cold and windy. Since the ground was covered with snow, the community Easter egg hunt had a different twist. When you arrived they gave you a bag of eggs for each kid and if you had a numbered egg, you got to get a basket. All of the kids got baskets! It was very easy and no crying because someone took your egg. I liked it a lot. Kind of takes the hunt part out of egg hunt, but kudos to the local Lion's Club for their bright idea. We tried to take a shot with the Easter Bunny after the "hunt" but my camera was out of batteries, luckily my cousin was right there waiting with his kids and took a picture for us. When he emails it, I'll add it to the blog.
The kids dyed eggs on Saturday afternoon and played with their cousins. Kirill can't wait to go to Grandpa and Grandma's because it means he can play with his cousins and play Ryan's ancient Nintento video game (think original Mario with the gold coins and mushrooms). We don't have video games so this is a huge treat for him. Sunday brought the egg hunt and Easter dinner (yum!). Then it was back on the road to home. It was a great weekend, and we love spending time with our family.
No pictures of the kids in their Easter Sunday clothes because this year with had General Conference on Easter Sunday. Gracie was thrilled to see "Temple Square, Temple Square" on the TV during General Conference. Check back next week...

  2. About Caroline looking like Becca's kids... If you look a few pictures up to where Matt is holding Caroline, you see that she looks almost exactly like HIM. Same dimples and smile! So if Caroline looks like Becca's kids, Becca's kids (and Becca?) must look a lot like Matt!

  3. I think it is funny that you are outside in snow in short sleeves and a baby with no socks. People in TX would be going crazy.
And- I think Caroline looks just like her Daddy even though you can tell she belongs to your sideof the family.

  4. I saw the picture of Matt and Caroline and saw the board in the background and knew you were at your mothers. That is one of the things I remember about their house....that big white board. I tried to do something similar when we were going through "the crazy" years and settled for a big desk calendar. I hope you all survive your move.
