Christmas!

Our power went out on Christmas Eve about 10:30 pm. I wrapped gifts by candle light. We had a roaring fire. It was -5 outside, but we were warm inside the house. The power came back on about 12:30 on Christmas Day. We were able to test out the Easy Bake and watch some new movies. Luckily the kids didn't wake up until it was light so we were able open the blinds and unwrap presents. Santa and the grandparents were very good to the kids this year!

Alex shows off his new Tarheel gear on the slide.
Kirill reads one of his new Wimpy Kid books.

Caroline tries to decide if her new bike helmet is good to eat.

Gracie models Kirill and Alex's new Hulk gloves. Maybe the boys can fight using these and not hurt each other.

Hungry, Hungry Hippos never goes out of style and moms never get relief from trying to keep all of those marbles away from the little kids.
Biggest present of the year and favorite of all! Gracie loves to climb the slide. The girls all got the slide from Grammy and Paw-paw, but the boys LOVE it too. I'm impressed with how sturdy it is and that it folds up (if I can ever get them off it).
Kirill enjoying his pencil toppers.

The girls got a kitchen and table with chairs from Santa. They love playing with it and so does Alex. They love to steal the real dishes from the kitchen to use in their kitchen.

Courtney and Gracie each got a stroller (and yet they still fight over them). Motherhen Courtney immediately got busy taking her baby for a ride.
The EasyBake oven also never seems to go out of style. Alex's first cake was a hit. The boys were a bit upset that I wouldn't let them eat the batter when they made the cake. They couldn't quite understand that there wouldn't be any cake if they each had a spoonful of batter. We've yet to try out the Frosting Pen that Alex also received.
