2014 Grace and Courtney Birthday Party!

Courtney and Grace!  My big six year olds!
Happy Birthday to Grace today and Courtney tomorrow.  My girls are six!!!  So hard to believe.  I will have to do their personal birthday posts tomorrow.  Today was early out from school so we celebrated their birthday party today.  It was their first official party (since the big 1 year bash)  with invitations and friends, not just family and friends.  We had lots of little folks over to celebrate the day:  Courtney, Grace, Caroline, Irelynd, Dresdyn, Tate, Trace, Sophie, Becca, Preslee, Maeli and Ammon and then the biggers showed up later (Alex, Londyn, Joseph, Bronwyn, Liam, and Brinlee).

The airplane teeter totter was full of kids!
I had a lot of party games planned, but everything but the pinata (even pin the horn on the unicorn!) got passed over for playing in the yard with all the fun toys and playground equipment.  The weather was perfect for spring and we even got to use the basketball hoop for the pinata.

The "four sisters"  These Four are born from March 12, 2008 to April 27, 2009.  Quite a crew around our house most days!
The girls agreed on a Minion pinata. He was very sturdy and it took two rounds of all the party goers to destroy him (see live action shots below).  We all speculated on whether or not he would turn into an evil, purple Minion when we started to beat him with the pinata stick.

Stuffing the Minion pinata!  A group effort!

 Grace's Oreo Ice Cream Cake
Grace chose an Oreo ice cream cake that "had to have whipped cream on the top with Oreos, and cookies and cream ice cream in the middle with chocolate frosting."  It wasn't too hard to make, especially with everything I learned from Joseph's cake a few years back.

 Courtney's Fairytopia Cake
Courtney came up with a Fairytopia cake topper from the bakery and then found a cake online for me to use as my guide.  I thought it turned out pretty nice as well and she loved it!

Grace got to be the Star Student at school this week and we made a poster all about her for school. She took her birthday treat, creme filled chocolate cupcakes, today.  Courtney will take her treat tomorrow for her class.  She chose Fruit by the Foot.

Here are more highlights from the party!  Wish you could have all joined us for two birthday cakes, two kinds of jello jigglers, Cheetos & Sour Cream and Onion Chips, pinata candy and two kinds of Kool-Aid!  Can you say "Sugar Rush?"

Grace made a giraffe with marshmallows and spaghetti noodles. We did this activity while everyone was arriving.

Waiting for the tree swing!  A highly desired activity!

Maeli pausing to pose for a picture!  Her fourth birthday will be on Friday.
She is right in a row with the ladies.

The crew lined up, mostly youngest to oldest, waiting for their turn with the pinata!

Courtney prepares to swing at the pinata.

Grace did not want to wear her blindfold.

Becca, the little friend one, not my sister, takes a swing!

And the pinata bursts!  The mad dive!

The birthday crowd await the cake!

Would you hurry and light the cake already, mom?

Getting ready to blow out the candles.

 Enjoying their cake!

Courtney enjoying her birthday very much!

Opening presents was so much fun!

Look at this adorable wrapping job!  Inside were all sorts of fun spring toys: jump ropes, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, etc.
