First Day of School 2012

Joseph ready for 5th grade. Alex ready for 2nd grade.

School started yesterday August 23.  The school day runs from 8:15-3:30.  Luckily for the boys, the girls will be in preschool four days, and they can get a ride to the school with me.  If they were going to ride the bus, it comes by at 6:30!  They will ride the bus home on the days that I'm not at the school. It is only a 15 minute ride home.  Both reported a successful first day. Joseph reported, "My teacher said he is not mean, just strict. Is that good?"  Alex said that his teacher was nice.  He doesn't have a lot of friends from last year in his class, but will make new friends soon.  This morning his teacher said, "I wish I could have a classroom full of such nice boys like Alex."

All the kids ready for school

The girls had their preschool orientation at 8:30 so they were ready with the boys.  We dropped the boys off at school and then went to their orientation.  Courtney and Grace will start on Monday.  They go Mon-Thurs 8-12:20, and Caroline will go on Thursdays.  Thursday will be my volunteer day at the school and the preschool.  It will be strange having only one child home while the girls are at preschool. I haven't had only one at home since Joseph started kindergarten in 2007.  I'm sure we'll make it through.

Alex has Ms. Howerton this year.  He loves his striped pullover.  He wore it all last year and started this year off wearing it again.

Joseph aka The Man in Black has Mr. Vaughn. He is very excited to have a "boy teacher."  He is sporting his fancy Reeboks that he bought for himself.
