Ute Mountain Roundup Rodeo

Alex, Courtney, Joseph and Grace wait for the rodeo to start.  We made it all the way to the end of the rodeo.  Everyone sat quite still and watched, except for Caroline...who never sits still and is never quiet!

The rodeo grounds are in the shadow of Mesa Verde National Park (home to the amazing cliff dwellings).  The rodeo holds Library Rodeo Days (kind of a Rodeo themed-story time) and every kid who attends gets a free ticket.  It was a great deal for our family to only have to pay for tickets for Matt and me.

The rodeo clown was great.  He rode a motorcycle and jumped over his trailer and truck on it.  We got that on video.  The kids LOVED watching him almost as much as the bucking bulls and horses.

A major part of waiting for the rodeo to start was all of the children taking random pictures with the camera.  Matt, as photographed by Courtney or Caroline.
